Resources for Hill R Us ride leaders

Rides always start/end at Shoup Garden Park, 400 University Ave., Los Altos (Google Map). Start time is stated as 10 AM, which in Western Wheelers usage means actual departure time is 10:15 AM. Estimate 10 mph overall for a slow pace, 15 mph fast (includes stops); e.g., a 50-mile ride will last between 3:20 and 5 hours.

It is normal for riders to peel off at various points along the way. Do not take it as a reflection upon your choice of route, nor yourself as ride leader!

Since rides are co-listed with ACTC and Western Wheelers, ride leaders should come prepared with signup sheets from both clubs. Club statisticians prefer completed signup sheets to be submitted by their respective club members.

Note: ACTC requires only the information from the signup sheet to be emailed to the statistician; the paper copy is not needed. In contrast, the Western Wheelers want either the paper copy mailed to the statistician or a scanned image of it emailed (most image formats accepted). You can save the statistician from having to decipher illegible scrawls by typing in the participants’ names in the email.
